. . . Studio Classes
. . . In addition to outreach activities, PDP
allocates a percentage of its time to traditional studio-based dance
education. In this context, PDP desires to provide technical training
within the discipline of dance to any and all willing members of the
community, regardless of socioeconomic status, race, religion, creed, or
ability. Dance activities include technique classes founded in modern,
ballet, jazz, yoga, hip-hop, and swing. More formalized versions of
contemporary dance provide participants with a technical foundation from
which to explore the benefits of dance, such as individual expression;
creative investigation; and improved physical, emotional, and mental
well-being. | ||||
|
. . . Workshops . . . Workshops are designed to provide participation with practical and theatrical explorations in dance. Workshops target special populations as well as professional dancers and dance students interested in outreach practice and research. | ||||
